Thursday 10th December 2009 7.30am – 1.30pm
The annual exhibition of children’s art work will go on display this week. Each year group have taken their inspiration from an established artist and looked at the stimulus and style of the work. All children have produced a piece of work to display*. Work is mounted and available for families to purchase, with all profits going to the schools nominated charities. The school council have been involved in the organisation of this years’ exhibition and have agreed a pricing system which offers discount to those families with more than one child!
The years’ focus artists are:
FS1 : Henri Matisse
FS2: Jackson Pollock
Year 1 : Salvador Dali
Year 2: Roy Lichtenstein
Year3: Georgia O Keefe
Year 4: Chuck Close
Year5: Picasso
Year 6: Andy Warhol
The work looks stunning as a collection and highlights the skills and breadth of the art curriculum at Kings'.
The children are very proud of their work and we encourage as many people as possible to visit the exhibition. Please do not remove any work at the time of visiting. Bought pieces will be sent home once the exhibition has been taken down.
Thank you.
* Unfortunately any children who were absent from school for long periods at the time may not have produced a piece artwork
