24th November 2009
Dear Parents
Kings' Dubai will be hosting it's first ever Festive Fayre tomorrow evening. The Fayre has been organised by the VOKS (Volunteers of Kings') parent group and is promising to be an awesome event! My sincere thanks and gratitude go to all of the parents who have worked tirelessly to co-ordinate and organise the event. In particular I would like to thank Mrs Tappuni, Mrs Dando and Mrs Gravestock who have worked around the clock to make this happen.
We would like you to be aware of some very important organisational aspects for tomorrow which will impact on the normal school day. Please read the following information carefully.
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
All after school activities that run from 2.30pm - 3.30pm are cancelled.
Desert Sport Services and Turning Pointe Ballet will run as normal. Children and parents attending these are requested to sign in with security at the gate and will only be permitted to the designated area for their activity. If you then want to visit the Fayre would you please use the entrance gate assigned for this. This will allow the security and safety of all parties to be catered for.
MORNING DROP OFF and PICK UP
On the morning of Wednesday 25th the gates will open as normal at 7.30 am but children are requested to go directly to their classrooms rather than to the field or court areas.
At the end of the day different arrangements will apply:
FS1 children - Collection as normal. Parents go directly to the classrooms to collect children.
FS2 children - Parents please enter school through the main doors and go directly to the classroom to collect children at 1.30pm. Please then leave by the front doors. The shaded area behind the FS classrooms will not be accessible.
Children in Years 1-6
The gates will open at 2.25pm.
Parents are requested to wait in the STAFF CAR PARK to the front of school. The children will be brought out through the front doors and will wait in assigned class areas on the path to the front of the school building. Parents can then collect children and leave through the main gates.
Access to the field, court and Year 1 shaded area will not be permitted.
NON - UNIFORM DAY
Wednesday 25th November 2009 is a Non Uniform day. Children are permitted to wear their own choice of clothes for the day in return for a contribution of a plastic jar for the Tombola stall:-
Ideally we would prefer the jars to be plastic (any size from small Mayonnaise sized jars to anything larger). If you haven't managed to save one from your grocery shopping they can be purchased for a nominal amount (less than Dhs 1.50 from Carrefour).
Then let your imagination go wild and fill the jars with anything that would appeal to children. Often a combination of items works well (otherwise they may end up with too many jars of sweets). Some good ideas so far have been: sweets, stickers, marbles, lego pieces (even second hand if in good condition), hair bands, a small cuddly toy, crazy bones, Xmas decorations, stationery, small cars etc.
This information has been previously sent to parents via email.
Although the children will be wearing non uniform - please note that it is a NORMAL day in school. Lessons will be happening as normal. If your child normally has PE or Swimming on Wednesdays, please ensure they have the correct kit with them.
We are really looking forward to the Fayre and hope to see many of you there.
With kind regards
Debbie Watson
