Waiting Lists

The waiting lists across many years at Kings' are extensive and we have decided to close applications for certain year groups.  Kings' is a small and popular school which sees little turnover, movement through the waiting lists can be a slow process.

The below Year Groups are now full:

Academic Year 2011-2012

FS1 and FS2, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4

Academic Year 2012-2013

FS1 and FS2

Academic Year 2013-2014

FS1 and FS2

Any year groups not listed above, please check with the Admissions Office as to whether an application can be submitted.

If you would like to complete an Expression of Interest Form, please click on the link at the bottom of the page and submit the completed form to Kings' Dubai.

Please check back periodically for any changes to the waiting lists.

Registration Process

An application for registration can be obtained directly from the school or downloaded from here.  The application form must be complete and submitted to the school including copies of legal documents as requested within the application form.  This will include the following:

  • 2 copies of child's passport (including residence visa)
  • 4 original passport photographs (do not submit scanned copies)
  • Copy of the child's birth certificate
  • Original latest school report
  • Transfer Certificate or Transfer Letter from current school (click here for a sample of transfer letter), if transferring from outside UAE.
  • Registration Fee - Dhs.500

Once the application has been received the school Registrar will contact you to advise you further regarding places available.

The AED 500 registration fee is non refundable as per KHDA guidance Assessment  - effective 1st September 2010

Assessments

Before a place can be offered the applicant will be asked to visit the school to be assessed in Math and English. These assessments are based on current UK National Curriculum levels that are expected at your child's current age.  This will involve spending a morning at the school in the class he or she will be placed in and will give your child the opportunity to have a taste of school life at Kings' Dubai.

Successful applicants will be notified by letter that a place has been offered. In all cases the parent or guardian will be notified of the outcome of the assessment by telephone.

In order to secure the place offered you will be requested to place a deposit of Dhs.3,000. This may be paid in cash or by cheque to Kings' Dubai School.  This deposit will be deducted from your child's first terms fees.

Once we are in receipt of your deposit you will be given a welcome pack which will include a copy of the schools Information for Parent's Handbook.

School Term and Fees

The school is made up of three terms Winter, Spring and Summer.  You may pay your fees for the year in advance.  Should you wish to pay for each term separately, please ensure that this is made payable to the school on the first day of each term.  Failure to pay school fees on time could result in the loss of your child's place.  School fees for the academic year 2010/2011 are as follows :

Year                   Yearly Fee             Winter Term             Spring Term            Summer Term

FS1 & FS2              30,680                     10,230                       10,230                          10,220

Year 1-4                 38,686                     12,900                       12,900                          12,886

Year 5 & 6              46,690                     15,570                        15,570                          15,550

Please note that at the end of each academic year existing parents will be requested and expected to pay Dhs.1000 security deposit against the new Winter term's fees (deductible from the Winter Term invoice). Failing to do so may jeopardize you child's place.

Upon Joining

Upon joining the school please hand-over your child's Transfer Letter if this was not attached to your application form at the time of initial registration.  This also applies to your child's residency visa. Applicants are not permitted to join the school without these documents.

Bus Service

Currently Kings' Dubai does not operate a bus service.

School Lunches

All children must bring to school a healthy lunch box which should include a drink and snack to cover 2 breaks.

Expression of Interest Form

The Expression of Interest Form is not an application form.  To be placed on the Kings’ Dubai waiting list you must complete the Kings’ Dubai application form. However, as I am sure you have been made aware, it is very unlikely that a place at Kings’ Dubai will become available due to the current extensive waiting lists.  Should you wish to be placed on the waiting list at Kings’ Dubai then you must complete the application form and deposit the application fee of Dhs.500.

The expression of interest form allows us to contact you should the situation at Kings’ Dubai change and also to allow us to offer you further information about Kings’ College when known. It is most likely that we will contact to let you know that application forms will be available to apply to Kings’ College at sometime in the near future. This will happen once we have licensing permissions and a school opening date; both still not known at this time although we are aiming for 2013.

We would suggest in the mean time that if possible you secure a place at an alternative school to ensure that you have a school place for your child.

Thank you once again for taking the time to complete the expression of interest form.

We will contact you again when we have further information to offer.

With every good wish.
