Arabic is taught from Year 1 and covers conversational and social studies. The children are encouraged to use everyday terminology and lessons are mainly practically based on real life situations. Arabic is a compulsory component of the curriculum in the U.A.E
French is also taught from Year 1 and the emphasis is on offering students a firm, confident grounding in conversation. Wherever possible, French lessons are linked to current themes of study.
The French and Arabic programmes of study are enhanced by the students´ contributions to assemblies and days devoted to the languages and the associated cultures. We feel that it important that languages are not studied in isolation and are given context whenever appropriate.
