ICT is now a fundamental feature of education at all levels and is a highly valued part of the learning process at Kings´. Using wireless and portable technologies enables every space to become a learning space.
All areas have multimedia capability and utilise associated hardware, such as printers, cameras and scanners. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and projectors. Our comprehensive range of software includes BeCTA award winners such as ‘ICT Alive’, ‘Softease’ and ‘Easiteach’.
ICT supports cross curricular themed work, but is also taught as a specialist subject in its own right, where students develop key skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, control technology and graphics packages.
Research shows that the use of ICT enhances communication and the learning process. ICT provides parents and pupils with data relating to attainment and attendance and supports our school wide ‘Personalised Learning’ ethos.
Today, pupils use ICT at home to assist them with their home work and our school web site and portals provide many online learning opportunities, where students, parents and teachers can access resources and reusable learning objects.
