Key Stage 2

Following the British National Curriculum frameworks, the thematic based curriculum at Kings´ is continued from KS1 into KS2. Activities are based on Science/Geography/History/DT themes and are linked closely to Literacy objectives.

Children are encouraged, through drafting and editing processes, to produce final work which is presented in A4/A3 formats. Art is an intrinsic part of our skill based curriculum, with children encouraged to create water colour illustrations.

Specialist lessons provide enriched activities for Music, PE, Languages and ICT. Regular trips and excursions support the curriculum.

Parents are informed about their child´s ongoing progress on a weekly basis - through Parents Hour and Learning Journals. Assessments take place every term, culminating with Standardised Assessment Tasks (SATs) in the third term.
