 25th June 2011

Dear Parents

As we move towards the end of the school year and look back on the achievements of Kings’ students since last September we have good reason to celebrate.

Our recent Assessment Week has revealed significant progress for so many of our students.  Also as most sporting events have drawn to a close it is pleasing to look back at the success of our various school teams who should be very proud of their efforts against teams from much larger schools.

We look forward to events prior to the end of the school year and particularly the spectacular Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 production of ‘Spirit of the Circus’ at 6pm on the evenings of 21st and 22nd June 2011.  Tickets will be available from Reception from Wednesday, 1st June.

I am sure that parents and students will want to join us in thanking those staff who are leaving Kings’ at the end of term for their respective contributions to the success of the school and to wish them well in their respective new ventures.

Miss Amy Simpson

French Day – 7th June 2011
Just a reminder that Tuesday the 7th June will be a French day at Kings'. Children are encouraged to come to school dressed with clothes related to France or a French-speaking country and to bring a French themed packed lunch for the day. The children will also engage in a whole range of activities during the day.
I hope the children are looking forward to an enjoyable, purposeful and fun-packed day as I am.

A bientôt!

Message from School Nurse 11th January 2011

Dear Parents,

Firstly, I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year!

Whilst we have been sharing our holidays and enjoying the company of our families and friends both in the UAE and abroad, holidays are also a time for sharing our germs.

As we all travel to different parts of the world we bring back all sorts of different bugs and viruses even if we are unaware of it.

Most children return to school fit and well after any holiday period. However, by the second week of term we have all greeted each other by shaking hands, or hugging our friends and unwittingly shared our germs.

It is common after any holiday period for families to suffer from a variety of different illnesses such as coughs, colds, flu bugs, diarrhea and vomiting.

Please keep your child at home if they are unwell.

Any student who has any of the following symptoms should be seen by a physician or remain at home until fully recovered.

a) Fever
b) Diarrhea
c) Vomiting
d) Eye or ear discharge
e) Rash of unknow origin
f) Ring worm
g) Known contagious infections

The school guideline is that all students are symptom free, prior to returning to school. Parents/guardians are required to contact the school if their child will be absent for a period of time.

Thank you for your continued support.

Nurse Catherine
